Supporting Efficient Conformity Assessment Under the European Drinking Water Directive

‍

The launch comes at a time when the implementation of the European Drinking Water Directive (DWD) is increasing the need for reliable, accessible, and verified evidence across the industry. Today, critical information is often scattered across organizations, creating administrative burden, repeated audits, duplicated information requests, and limited visibility across the supply chain. Fit4DW was established to address these challenges by providing a digital infrastructure built around a single source of truth for trusted information.

»The industry needs a shared infrastructure that enables trusted collaboration and efficient reuse of verified information across the supply chain. The Trusted Document Environment is an important step towards a more connected and scalable model for conformity assessment.«
Mark Stecken, Business Manager, Fit4DW

By connecting verified evidence directly to the Fit4DW infrastructure, stakeholders gain more efficient access to relevant information while reducing the need for repeated exchanges and duplicate requests. At the same time, suppliers and raw material providers retain control over proprietary formulations and other sensitive data through secure access mechanisms.

‍

The result is a more connected approach to conformity assessment that benefits all participants in the ecosystem, from raw material providers and suppliers to manufacturers, laboratories, and certification bodies.

»The quality of drinking water depends on thequality and trustworthiness of the data behind it. Manufacturers, suppliers, and raw material providers all need confidence that relevant evidence is verified, reliable, up to date, and available when needed, while protecting sensitiveknow-how and intellectual property. Together with Fit4DW, we are creating thattrusted environment that ultimately contributes to safeguarding drinking waterquality across Europe.«
Sebastian Britz, CEO, Kevla
